The Northwest Bass 2010 Challenge Tournament Circuit is dedicated to providing you with the best tournament format and payout in the Northwest. Our goal is to provide a tournament circuit that provides flexibility for busy schedules so that the maximum number of teams can compete in a challenging tournament format.
Winner of the 2010 Challenge Championship receives a Triton/Mercury boat package sponsored by Nixon's Marine, Northwest Bass, Triton Boats and Mercury Marine.
1Largemouth Restrictions on Banks and Wallula: According to the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife, only one Largemouth Bass 17" or greater may be retained per person (two per boat if two anglers, regardless of which angler caught them) during the months of May and June.
The Format:
This year there are five (5) qualifying tournaments leading up to the 2010 Challenge Championship.
It's that easy for you to qualify for the 2010 Challenge Championship tournament, and your chance to win a Triton/Mercury boat package!! This boat package is being sponsored by Nixon’s Marine, Triton Boats, Mercury Marine and Northwest Bass. The largest two day total weight at the 2010 Challenge Championship will win the Triton/Mercury boat package.
To qualify to fish in the 2010 Challenge Championship, a team only needs to fish or buy-in to four (4) of the qualifying tournaments. Points do not determine qualification for the 2010 Challenge Championship.
Off-limits periods: For 2010, tournament waters will be off-limits Monday prior to the tournament until the start of the tournament on Saturday. Championship waters are off limits Monday through Thursday the week prior to the tournament.
Pre-Registration is highly encouraged and must be received by Wednesday prior to the tournament.
On-Site Registration Fee: In order to increase pre-registration, an additional on-site registration fee of $20 per team will be instituted beginning May 2010.
On-Site Registration will begin Friday afternoon at 4:00PM for each qualifier.
Drivers Meetings for Qualifiers will be held tournament mornings approximately 30 minutes before sunrise. Championship Drivers meeting will be held the Friday evening before the Championship (time TBA).
All boaters participating in Washington based tournaments must sign the Aquatic Invasive Species Decontamination Statement. Click here for details.
Fees: Participation in the Northwest Bass Challenge Circuit requires annual registration by each angler. The registration fee for 2009 is $50 per angler. Anglers who wish to fish just one Northwest Bass event as an open tournament will receive a discounted Annual Angler Registration fee of just $25.00.
Tournament Entry Fee: $200 per tournament per team. Options: $50 per tournament (pays big fish and big stringer each flight). On-site Registration Fee: An additional $20 per team fee for those teams that do not pre-register. (Beginning May 2010)
Anglers-of-the-Year: Points earned for all five (5) qualifiers fished will be used to determine the team that wins Anglers-of-the-Year.
Once again Anglers-of-the-Year will be awarded five (5) paid tournament entries for the 2010 Challenge Circuit. We are gathering additional Sponsorships... please check back again for a complete listing of awesome Angler-of-the-Year payout!!!
Angler of the Year Option Pot: Just $50, this option pot will pay out 100% to the top 1 in 5 teams (top 20%) at the end of the season based on Angler of the Year standings. Sign up for this option pot when you register for your first tournament of the season.
Rookie-Team-of-the-Year: Points earned for all five (5) qualifiers fished will be used to determine the Rookie-Team-of-the-Year.
A Rookie Team is defined as a team where neither team member has previously fished more than two qualifying tournaments in any one season.
Buy-In: A team may buy into one or more of the qualifiers if necessary. Buy-in fees must be received by Northwest Bass or buy-in approved by the Tournament Director prior to the start of the tournament.
Qualifier Payout: The payout is 80% of tournament entry fees and 100% of the options for tournaments held in Washington. Northwest Bass pays the top 1-in-5 boats or 20% of the field.
Here is
a sample payout for a tournament with (80) boats:
There is one option pot for $50.00 that pays big fish and big stringer for each flight. In an 80-boat field, assuming all teams were in the options, there would be (4) flights and (8) $500.00 checks to be awarded, in addition to the payout listed above!!
